| Millichamp & Hall Newsletter
Thank you for subscribing to the free M&H quarterly newsletter. This is our chance to get in touch with you throughout the season to keep you up to date with any cricketing or manufacturing developments and establish a more interactive relationship with our customers.
It has been a very busy period for us since the turn of the year, so much happening that there has hardly been time to write a newsletter. Our workshops here at The County Ground, Taunton, have been full steam ahead with production, many of you choosing to take up the bespoke bat service or purchase from our existing range. One of the surprise best sellers of 2008 has been the LTD EDITION RETRO BAT, with 62 of the 100 already gone, so you better be quick to get your hands on one!

Hot Cricket Topics
You may have seen in the national press information regarding the legality of certain bat handles. You’ll be pleased to know that all the handles used in M&H bats are legal. 18,000 M.C.C. members have voted to outlaw bats with handles made from carbon fibre in favour of the traditional cane and rubber handles. The new ruling states that the handle must be made from wood (such as cane), 10% shock absorber (such as rubber) and twine. It is a move to help the lawmakers keep the game on a traditional footing and the balance level between bat and ball.
Another recent talking point has been the thickness of today’s cricket bats. With thicker, heavier and better balanced blades, the general feeling is that all but the best slower spin bowlers have been marginalized, giving the batsman a huge advantage. With the average bat now twice the size it was 10 years ago we suggest you get your big bat orders in now before the M.C.C. restricts them.

New Product Review | FINGER TIP PROTECTION
“After 30 years of playing club cricket I’ve broken my finger no less than 7 times. Whilst I’ve found most gloves offer plenty of protection on the upper side of the hand, none seem to protect the more vulnerable lower finger tip area. Millichamp and Hall have addressed this issue with their finger tip protection system. After facing a couple of over enthusiastic youngsters in the nets this winter I was caught in this area and these little devices seemingly saved my bacon. I have no hesitation in recommending these if you are prone to broken fingers.” Steve - Bolton. >>
