Bat Care and Maintenance

Millichamp and Hall Cricket Equipment

Our top of the range bats The Harlequin, Solution, Distinction and Amplus come ‘Match Ready’. These bats have been oiled and knocked-in by hand and are ready for play however we recommend that your new bat is broken in gently by having a few knocks in the nets using an old soft cricket ball. Deep seam marks appearing on the bat would indicate that the bat would benefit from a little more knocking-in.

Other bats in our range i.e The S6 and The Original will have been wax finished but will need to be prepared i.e. knocked-in before use.

Please download our Bat Preparation Resource below for more information on knocking in your new bat and other maintenance tips.

Bat Preparation & Maintenance

If, after reading our Bat Preparation section, you don’t feel up to the task of knocking-in your new bat, we do offer a ‘ready to play’ service see our Bat Repairs section of the website.
